Beating of the Defendant in the Four Dragons Case: Statement of the Injured Party | Update 01.04.2025

Statement of the Injured Party: We Demand Immediate Intervention — Defendant Marat Zaripov Was Beaten in the Bishkek Detention Center

We, the company Four Dragons, which suffered as a result of a high-profile cybercrime, officially express our extreme concern over credible information about the brutal beating of the defendant in our case — Marat Zaripov — in the Bishkek Detention Center.

According to eyewitness reports, on March 25, 2025, Mr. Zaripov was brought to a court hearing with clear signs of violence — hematomas on his face and head, difficulty moving, and an ambulance was called. However, as it became known, neither the detention center staff, convoy, nor judicial authorities officially documented the incident, and the defendant himself refused to file a complaint.

Who is Marat Zaripov?

He is a defendant in case No. 03-050-2024-000109a, accused of creating an organized criminal group (OCG), hacking the exchange, and stealing digital assets. As the injured party, we insist on respecting all rights, including those of the defendant. The court must be fair and transparent, not based on violence.

Further investigation has revealed that individuals effectively managing WhiteBIT, in close collaboration with 001K.exchange and Garantex, participated in laundering funds amounting to at least $2.7 billion. From the initial case No. 03-050-2024-000109, separate proceedings were initiated: No. 03-050-2024-000505 (Article 262, Part 2 of the Criminal Code) and No. 03-050-2024-000537 (Article 222, Part 3, Clause 2 of the Criminal Code) concerning the creation of a criminal organization and money laundering (legalization of proceeds of crime).

Additionally, due to real threats of physical violence against our employees, cases have been initiated in Austria (PAD/24/01403684-KRIM) and the UAE (224004074668).

We Demand:

  1. Conduct an urgent investigation into the circumstances of the beating of the defendant Marat Zaripov in the Bishkek Detention Center.
  2. Organize an independent medical examination involving external experts.
  3. Interview staff members, witnesses, and cellmates regarding the alleged violence.
  4. If there is a threat to life, transfer the defendant to a safer facility (such as the GKNB Detention Center).
  5. Provide an official explanation from the GSIN regarding the incident and current measures to prevent torture.
  6. Ensure access for human rights organizations and media representatives to monitor the conditions of detention and the rights of prisoners.

Context: International Scale

This case also involves potential money laundering schemes amounting to $2.7 billion, with mentions of platforms such as WhiteBIT, Garantex, and others. The investigation has already attracted the attention of international agencies, including the FBI.

We specifically emphasize: The initial transaction analysis was conducted using Chainalysis software by former employees of this company, who were later dismissed. However, as soon as we started asking specific questions — where the file detailing operations worth $2.7 billion is located and why it was not handed over to officials — the company Chainalysis unilaterally terminated our contract.

Appeal to Journalists

We urge the media not to remain silent. Does anyone really have the courage to write about buses and the weather but not about torture and lawlessness?

We are the victims of a crime, but we cannot stand idly by, watching the defendant being killed before the trial. If he is guilty — let the court prove it, not a fist.

Sincerely, Four Dragons

Update: 1 April 2025

We urge the media not to remain silent. Why does someone have the courage to write about the beating — vesti.kg, about a sudden death, even if it was from a recently diagnosed acute liver cancer — svodka.akipress. And some are even not afraid to write about corruption at the highest levels of power — economist.kg.

Unfortunately, while everyone else is writing about the weather — kaktus.media, instead of torture and lawlessness, this lawlessness will continue over and over.

  1. Foreigner, a citizen of a country that "never leaves its own behind".
  2. Not convicted, but only a defendant in a criminal case that is constantly opened and closed, with judges changing 5 times in 3 months.
  3. A Muslim.
  4. During the holy month of Ramadan.
  5. During these exact two weeks of torture — the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights is on an official visit to Bishkek.

Meeting with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

In fact, all of the above can be formulated as follows: the situation has reached such an absurdity that it can be stated that in the last days of the blessed month of Ramadan, when the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights was physically present in the same building with these speeches, the defendant Zaripov was being tortured and boiled alive in boiling water. We will not publish all the photos sent to us, because it is hell on earth, but we will post the "mildest" of all.

The absurdity is compounded by the fact that we — the victims of the crime — do not remain silent, seeing how the accused is being killed before the trial, but everyone else is silent, intimidated by the medieval barbarity that has occurred.

If he is truly guilty — let the court prove it, not a pot of boiling water. We categorically oppose such brutality, as well as the blatant cynicism of so-called international human rights advocates. 322 views worldwide, but only one response from the local ombudsman.

A foreigner has been tortured non-stop for two weeks in a case of laundering $2.7 billion through the WhiteBit OCG (link), right in the presence of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. All participants and silencers of torture are Muslims. In a Muslim country. During the holy month of Ramadan. In its final days, when one should be thinking about the soul, a foreigner, a father, a Muslim is being boiled alive in a detention center by other Muslims.

It sounds like the ravings of a madman, but unfortunately, it is all true. Yet everyone around remains silent, as if nothing is happening. The deceased was diagnosed with "acute cirrhosis, cancer", although he never drank and visited doctors for every little health concern. At the same time, the parents of the victim of the monstrous crime blame the victims, i.e., the only people in the whole world who raised the alarm about what was happening and who care about the horror that is unfolding.

In connection with everything that has happened, we are currently discussing an important decision within the team and want to reach a complete consensus on the situation as soon as possible. A draft proposal will be posted later. Please give us a little more time: we are not keeping up with the response, obtained with the consent of everyone.
